INTERWEAVING: COEXISTENCE AND RESILIENCE IN AUSTRALIA

The interweaving workshop is focused on social cohesion, women empowerment, cultural diversity, sense of belonging, and inclusion.

ABOUT THE workshop:

This workshop is made up of three sections that complement each other:

1- Conversations with inspiring migrants. You will have the opportunity to hear directly from one of them on their insights for developing skills and cultural competencies to integrate into Australian life. Latin Stories Australia will facilitate an informal dialogic reflection on Australian values, identity and inclusion in Australia’s social and professional life.

2- A fun hands-on workshop to explore cultural, racial and religious diversity. CASA CULTURA will assist participants to explore the concepts of identity, diversity and sense of belonging in Australia using elements of a Chilean textile technique called Arpillera.

3- An experiential session to talk about isolation, sense of belonging and resilience. We will also explore practical skills to build resilience in times of crisis. Session run by Momentum Psychology.

Would you like to experience this workshop in your workplace, school or community?

Pilot project

During the pilot project, we delivered a series of FREE workshops for Latin American women between the 20th of July and the 26th of October 2019 in nine different areas across Victoria. These workshops were delivered in conjunction with Casa Cultura and Momentum Psychology.
