#WEAREALLEQUAL: LATIN AMERICANS WORKING TOWARDS GENDER EQUALITY
Gender inequality, and narrow, rigid gender stereotypes keep women and men from living healthy, safe and fulfilling lives. Often they contribute to violence and other harmful behaviours. So, if you want to break away from negative stereotypes and live a healthier and more respectful life, come to one of our workshops!
ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
Through a training session in English (by EDVOS-Specialist family violence service provider), micro-theatre performances in English (by Unpresentable Ego theatre) and reflection questions (by Latin Stories Australia) participants:
Reflect on, and learning about: (1) gender stereotypes and gender equality; (2) myths and facts about family violence; (3) how to support gender equality and challenge gender stereotypes; (4) how to recognise signs of family violence; (5) learn safe and appropriate ways to respond to it and (6) how to engage in conversations about family violence and offer support.
Previous interaction
The “We Are All Equal” project was a collaboration between Latin Stories Australia, EDVOS and Unpresentable. We delivered five free workshops for Latin American women focused on gender stereotypes, gender inequality and family violence. These workshops took place between 5 of September 2019 and 21 of March 2020 in five different areas across Victoria.
