#WEAREALLEQUAL: LATIN AMERICAN WORKING TOWARDS GENDER EQUALITY
Latin Stories Australia in conjunction with EDVOS and Unpresentable Ego are delivering a series of FREE workshops for Latin American women focused on gender stereotypes, gender inequality and family violence. These workshops will take place between 5 of September 2019 and 21 of March 2020 in five different areas across Victoria.
About the workshops
Gender inequality, and narrow, rigid gender stereotypes keep women and men from living healthy, safe and fulfilling lives. Often they contribute to violence and other harmful behaviours. So, if you want to break away from negative stereotypes and live a healthier and more respectful life, come to one of our workshops!
How iT works
Through a reflective training session in English with EDVOS (Specialist family violence service provider) and micro-theatre performances in English (Latin American artists) exploring violence against women (by Unpresentable Ego theatre), you will be:
Reflecting and Learning on: (1) gender stereotypes and gender equality; (2) myths and facts about family violence; (3) how to support gender equality and challenge gender stereotypes; (4) how to recognise signs of family violence; (5) learn safe and appropriate ways to respond to it and (6) how to engage in conversations about family violence and offer support.
